Diabetes Resilience Retreat

Hi Friend,

I want to first thank you for landing on this page. I am offering for the first time an intimate learning experience that will teach you how to build up your resilience bank, so when diabetes or other life stressors chip away at your energy, you have a back-up reserve.

I've been type 1 for over 22 years, and I know how exhausting it can be at times.

Let's face it, insulin, diet, and exercise are not enough to bounce back from the highs and lows. Whether it's diabetes management tasks or the physical and cognitive impact of blood sugar extremes, it is easy to get burnt out on diabetes management.

The longer you've had diabetes, the higher the risk to the body's multiple regulatory systems, the systems that bring things back into balance.

Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, views the cause of disease as a drying up of our vital essence. This essence, known as ojas,(OH-JAS) is our key to resilience. This retreat focuses on specific practices that increase ojas.

Our ability to adapt and respond appropriately to diabetes determines how manageable this disease is. 'Surge-capacity' or our body's physical and mental resilience to stressors. The people who excel with diabetes are the ones who transform risks into benefits and see failures as opportunities.

BUT this is challenging, if not impossible, without first cultivating the environment for healing to occur naturally.

I am talking about a different kind of cure, where you are in charge of how you feel. Our energetic condition largely governs our perception of diabetes. How we feel dictates how we think, behave, and see ourselves.

What if you had a type of home practice that helped you build-up your reserve bank, so when the inevitable disruptions occurred, you could bounce back more readily?

It is the reason why I created the Diabetes Resilience Retreat. I want to guide you through a top-notch healing experience and empower you to apply these practices for yourself. Think about it like your own vitality retirement account, put in a little bit consistently over the long term, and reap the rewards of a lifetime of personal investment. It is never too late to start.
I look forward to guiding you through this unique healing experience.

F.A.Q.

Do I have to be an experienced yogi to attend this retreat?
Definitely not! While experience is helpful, as long as you are open to the instructions, no matter where you are in your yoga journey, there will be something for you. Remember, there are no fancy yoga postures this weekend, just the inner practices of yoga nidra, pranayama, and meditation.

What type of diabetes does this retreat focus on?
The Diabetes Resilience Retreat is for all types of diabetes. I am T1D and always come from living with type 1 diabetes, but this retreat will benefit you with T2D, LADA, and even pre-diabetes.

I can't attend all of the sessions live. Should I still attend?
While we strongly encourage you to set time aside for this retreat, all sessions are recorded and available for 30-days after the training ends.

Four-hour sessions seem like a lot of time. How will you fill that space?

Time always flies when having fun. Each afternoon/evening session consists of short lectures interspersed with experiential practices. Each day we'll work on a new layer of experience and empower you along the way.

What type of materials will be needed?
All you need is a quiet space, a yoga mat, a chair, a couple of pillows, a blanket, and a covering for your eyes.
